Travel has been an important part of Jeff’s life for years, with cruising becoming a particular passion. After sailing on more than 20 cruises across multiple cruise lines, ships, and destinations, Jeff brings extensive firsthand experience to helping travelers choose the cruise and vacation that best fit the way they want to travel.
As the founder of Map & Compass Travel, Jeff focuses on cruise vacations while also specializing in travel for military members, veterans, and first responders. His approach combines personal travel experience, extensive supplier training, and an understanding that every traveler has different priorities, preferences, and needs.
Jeff has personally sailed more than 20 cruises across multiple cruise lines, ship classes, itineraries, and destinations, giving him firsthand experience with the many choices that can shape a cruise vacation.
His cruise experience spans multiple major cruise brands and includes everything from shorter getaways to longer itineraries, different ship styles, stateroom categories, onboard experiences, and destinations.
Jeff understands that the sailing itself is only one part of the journey. Hotels, transportation, excursions, activities, travel protection, and the details before and after the cruise can all play an important role in the overall vacation.
Jeff enjoys the process of travel almost as much as the destination itself. He likes researching ships, comparing itineraries, exploring destinations, and understanding the details that can turn a good vacation into the right vacation.
With more than 20 cruises personally sailed, cruising has become his favorite way to travel, but his experiences extend well beyond the ship. Jeff has traveled throughout the United States, Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, and Europe, and his international experiences also include mission trips to India, giving him the opportunity to experience travel from a very different perspective.
Jeff typically travels with Crystal, family, and friends, and he enjoys everything from discovering a new port or destination to simply relaxing onboard with nowhere he needs to be. He appreciates having a plan and knowing the options ahead of time, while still leaving room to enjoy the experience once the vacation begins.
That same curiosity and attention to detail shape the way Jeff approaches travel planning. He enjoys digging into the differences between ships, itineraries, accommodations, transportation, excursions, and available offers so travelers can understand their choices rather than simply being handed a reservation.
For Jeff, travel is ultimately about experiences and memories—seeing someplace new, sharing the journey with people you care about, and coming home already thinking about where the compass might point next.
More than 20 personal cruises give Jeff firsthand familiarity with the differences between cruise lines, ships, itineraries, accommodations, onboard experiences, and destinations.
Jeff has completed extensive cruise-line training, including the highest available levels with several major cruise brands, giving him both personal experience and supplier-specific knowledge to bring to the planning process.
Jeff’s military and first responder background gives him firsthand understanding that travel is not the same for everyone. Crowds, accessibility, stress, mobility, transportation, and the overall travel environment can matter just as much as the destination itself.
